Every 2 Weeks or so

I haven't posted any personal videos yet, and decided today that it's about time I start. I've had a couple sitting on back burners that I was too nervous to post, largely just because I'm a shy person (including one where I explain that fact), but this one is going up, because I'm feeling brave today.

This movie is of me doing one of my chores that I don't share in common with too many people my age; refilling pill boxes. I take 11 pills per day, every day, and I will tell you a little about why in this video. It's kind of long, but I hope you'll take the time to watch and get to know me a little better. I've been feeling lately like I know a lot of other vloggers to an extent that it's impossible to know me through my videos, and I'm excited to become part of the "vlogosphere" on a slightly deeper level.

Runtime is exactly 8 minutes. How did I manage to do that without trying?

This was so brave of you. Thank you for trusting this community and showing something so private--I am sure this will help others feel supported and courageous as a result.

Wow, Serra you are a brave vlogger. Very powerful, powerful, personal post. You spoke true about going deeper into the vlogosphere with this post. Great work.

I admire that you didn't add any special bells and whistles to this vlog - it's simply you and the camera - and that kind of intimate personability is quite compelling.

Hi, Serra. Wow. I can't imagine what it's like to be down to 11 pills per day. The most I ever took I think were 5 per day when I was very sick with mono. For a few weeks. Such a large number - 11 - yet to imagine 60! And every day for years. Wow.

Great personal vlog. I think you did something most of us wouldn't. It's hard to be yourself in front of the lens but you have a special way with that. Straightforward and honest, touching and open, yet matter-of-fact. I am very impressed.

Great video Serra. The personal stuff is hard to get out, I know. I'm a little timid about presenting myself directly to the camera. You've inpired me.

Thanks for the support and comments guys, this is awesome.

Ryan, I do have healthcare (thankfully) but only through my school. You've hit on a big issue which is; once I graduate, unless i jump immediately into a full-time job (which is unlikely) I will be uninsured. And because of my pre-existing condition will be unable to sign up for private health care.

There's been jokes of me marrying mike for his health insurance. There've been worse reasons, right? ;-) I'm honestly not sure what will happen, and don't feel like worrying quite yet. Maybe I'll move to canada?

I'm an RN and vlogger. I see people all the time on massive amounts of medications and I wonder how they afford them. I'm curious if your health plan covers your vitamins and minerals in addition to your medications? I work in an ER and usually see people when their health has deterioated to the point to where they are sick. I'd like to work in a reverse role and help promote health and help people BEFORE they get to the point of illness; promoting health and fitness.
Thanks for this great vlog I think it is important for others to see what some people have to go through just to stay healthy and alive.

This is my first viewing of headsoff...
and what an introduction to your world.
Very straight-forward matter of fact telling
of something so serious and overwhelming.
It's all been said before...you're an
amazing soul.
